Structure
What is a research area?
A research area is a common theme or interest that is shared across multiple people. The scope of a research area must be broad enough to cover a range of issues, and narrow enough to provide insights that are specific and actionable.
What is a peer group?
A peer group is a group of members or “peers” that are all interested in the same research area, such as Accounts Payable. Typically, a peer group will consist of approximately 750 peers. Over time, as the number of peer groups increases, each will have a common theme, like company size or geographic region, to differentiate the make up of the membership.
What is a peer?
A peer is a member that belongs to your peer group. All members of a peer group are peers.
What is a connection?
A connection is a peer that you have invited to interact more closely with than other peers in your peer group. To form a connection, you must invite the member and they must accept the invitation. A major benefit of having connections is the ability to share more detailed contact information and to have more visibility to their interests and experience across a broad range of topics.
