Corporate liability allows companies to control their speed of pay, that often equates to increased rebates.\u00a0 It also prevents individual cardholders from incurring late fees, which at times are outside of their control.<\/em><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Corporate liability. Individual liability would increase the timeliness of the completion of expense reports, because being late impacts the individual\u2019s credit score.\u00a0 However, corporate liability allows us to protect our associate\u2019s personal information as well as provides options to associates who otherwise would not be able to obtain a credit card for business purposes<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Here is a summary of pros and cons for both corporate liability and individual liability.<\/em>\n<ol>\n<li><em>The pros for individual liability:<\/em>\n<ol>\n<li><em>The business is not liable for unauthorized charges,\u00a0and charges\u00a0are not recorded into the books unless\u00a0approved in the expense reporting\u00a0process.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Increased compliance comes from the organization\u2019s\u00a0ability to deny payment for unapproved corporate card charges.\u00a0 When\u00a0a\u00a0charge is not\u00a0approved it must be paid by the employee or they would face delinquency on\u00a0an\u00a0account in their name.\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Incidental use of the corporate card for personal expenses is easily resolved in the expense reporting\u00a0process\u00a0by pushing responsibility for the payment of these personal charges to the employee.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><em>The cons for individual liability:<\/em>\n<ol>\n<li><em>The business is relying on the credit of the individual employee\u00a0and is making them responsible for reimbursable business-related transactions.\u00a0 In some cases, employees may not have enough credit to qualify for a credit card.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Even though the employee may be liable, businesses generally remit payment for\u00a0approved expenses to the bank on the employee\u2019s behalf. \u00a0\u00a0This\u00a0process\u00a0tends to be\u00a0automated\u00a0and when it fails it can create late payments, late fees\u00a0and ultimately impact the credit of employees.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><em>The pros for corporate liability:<\/em>\n<ol>\n<li><em>Corporate liability is the easiest way to get credit into the hands of the traveling employees.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Managing payment terms\u00a0and benefiting from making the latest possible payment is easier when\u00a0a\u00a0single payment made.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>No credit scoring or credit\u00a0availability is required by employees\u00a0as\u00a0the business is the debtor.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><em>The cons for corporate liability:<\/em>\n<ol>\n<li><em>The business will be responsible for non-business-related expenses if they cannot recover these expenses from the employee.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The second poll question looked at how the corporate card was set up for payment.
